Tourism of Tunisia

We saw that when we visited Tunisia, that it is one of the countries who is really appreciated by the tourists. It has an ideal climate, a long and gentle seacoast, it’s the northernmost country of Africa which has for over 3000 years witnessed the passage of the Phoenicians, Romans, Vandals, Byzantines, Turks, Spanish and French.

Among Tunisia’s tourist places are its cosmopolitan capital city of Tunis, the ancient ruins of Carthage, the muslim and jewish quarters of Jerba and also the coastal resorts outside of Monastir.

What is mainly popular on the east coast are the resorts, beneath this, here is a list of the largest resorts:
·         Sousse-Monastir-Mahdia
·         Nabeul-Hammamet
·         Djerba-Zarzis
·         Tunis-Zaghouan
·         Tabarka-Aïn Draham

The international tourism, the number of arrivals in Tunisia was last reported at 6, 903, 000 in 2010, according to a World Bank report which was published in 2012. International “overnight visitors” are the number of tourists who travel to a country other than that which they have their usual residence, but outside their usual environment, for a period not exceeding 12 months and whose main purpose in visiting is other than an activity remunerated from within the country visited.

For those who want to go shopping in Tunesia there are artisanal (handicraft) shops, where everything from carpets to birdcages carries a price tag, and carpets a stamp of origin and caliber, shopping in Tunisia is definably an art. Located in the old city (Medina), the Souks (markets) offer a selection of objects of unsurpassed beauty and distinction, excellent arts and craft and traditional work.

For those who want to have a relaxed vacation Tunisia is known for its “golden beaches”, sunny weather and even instead of his affordable luxuries. In Tunisia there are also relaxation resorts, so relaxation is guaranteed!

On the website of Tourismtunisia.com you will find a little trailer that I put in this blog too.

On this video you’ll see that they are racing with horses, this is also common in Tunisia.
Hopefully you’ll be fascinated by the country and you’ll visit it.
