During our
visit in Algeria, we got to know a man in our hotel, who studied politics and
who has been working in politics for years. He knew a lot about the politic
rules and he could write books and tell us everything what we liked to know.
So, one
day, when we were in the hotel, he came to us and told us about politics. I have
a shorter summary of what he told us and what I find on the internet.
Algeria is
an authoritarian regime whereby the politics takes place in a construction of a
presidential republic. The President of Algeria is the head of state- who is
elected for a five-year term- while the Prime Minister of Algeria is the head
of government, and of a multi-party system . This is a system in which
multiple parties have the capacity to get control of government offices,
separately or in coalition.
He gives also an example, which is well-known in
Algeria, namely the one between the Christian-Democratic Union of Germany and
Christian Social Union in Bavaria (CDU/CSU) and the Free Democratic Party. This
was like Chinese for me. This system is a system with numerous political
parties. He listed some parties on, like National Liberation Front, Algerian National
Front, and so much more.
The
President is also the head of the army, the Council of Ministers the High
Security Council He mentioned two of the three judicial powers. The executive
power is exercised by the government and the legislative power is vested in
both the government and the two chambers of parliament, the People's National
Assembly and the Council of the Nation. Nowadays, the country is a
constitutional republic with a democratically elected government, though the
military. Algeria has an universal suffrage at 18 years of age.
Maybe, you
understand it better than I and I hope it was interesting for the ones who are
obsessed through politics. And I hope also you have learned something more
about the politics of another country. But pay attention: don’t confuse these rules with those of Belgium
guys!
We take the right destination and take politics! Come
on, let’s vote!
