Almost the
last stop of our trip.. Now, we are visiting the country Denmark and there is a
lot to do here. Meet the Vikings, go on island hopping on some of Denmark's
more than 400 islands, taste the new Nordic kitchen or learn more about the
Danish bicycle culture, it’s all possible in this country.
Most
tourists consist of people from countries in the neighborhood of Denmark,
mainly Germany but also Sweden, Norway and the Netherlands. These people have
their own reason to come to Denmark. The Swedish and Norwegian tourists visit
especially the city of Copenhagen. The young Scandinavians come to Denmark for
his cheap and accessible beer, wines and spirits. The beaches attract mainly
German tourists.
The most
visited attractions in Denmark are Tivoli Gardens, a lot of fascinating museums,
Legoland Billund, many zoo’s, amusement parks and historical places. We visited
some museums, Legoland and some historical places.
We visited the Lego attraction in Miniland and it’s
plenty of wonderful landscapes, epic battle scenes, fantastic LEGO figures and
interactive features. You have also the chance to have a reunion with all the
LEGOLAND activities you know and admire.
Some of our
group love animals, so do I. that’s the reason why we made an unforgettable and
amazing journey, organized by the Odense Zoo. An old man, who takes care of the
animals and who was our driver, told us that they have more than 2,000 animals
from around the world. We saw the elegant giraffes in the Kiwara and heard the
lions roar when we entered their territory, large camels, lazy pandas, and so
on.
What about
the food in Denmark? If you ask me, the food was great! A few years ago, Danish
food was essentially associated with potatoes and bacon. Now, the chefs in
Denmark have developed a whole new Nordic food movement. What does this mean? It
means a renaissance of classic Danish dishes, which are available in modern
versions at several of Copenhagen's best restaurants. It’s based on seasonal
produce, traditional preparation and local knowledge.
The Danish
people love to eat traditional foods like porridge, open sandwiches and the
classic roast pork with parsley sauce, served with a glass of Danish beer. It’s
very popular and it's not to be missed! So, I would say, take your suitcase and
come enjoy the food here. Not only the food, but also the many attractions in
Denmark!

One thing I sure will remember about Denmark, is Legoland. A wonderful building full of constructions made from LEGO. In my opinion a piece of art. If you have kids, I advise you to drop by this 'Miniland' full of LEGO.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenYes indeed Bieke, we had a lot of fun in this 'building'. I think this took a lot of work to build up 'Legoland'.
